Dzyan - Time Machine (1973)

The second album from this German krautrock band.

Dzyan was more on  the avant garde jazzy end of the krautrock scene. Something they proves here on this forty minutes long album. This type of music is mostly a hit and miss type of music.

Dzyan uses a lot of bass, guitars, synths and drums in their music. The idea is to create a dystopic musical landscape on the first half of the album before it opens up a lot on the rest of the album. Opens up to a more traditional jazz landscape.

The end result is a good jazzy avant garde album in the good old krautrock tradition. Some of the jams here are very good. Others not so good. It is well worth checking out this album though.
