Noco Music - Noco Music (1987)

A French band with 3 - 4 albums on their conscience. I believe this is their debut album.

Noco Music was playing a blend of soft jazz and symph prog with a South American flavour. Mostly soft jazz, though. They can be compared with Passport. The leading instrument is the saxophone. It is supported by some tangents, percussions and bass. The music is a bit too shopping mall for my liking. But this album also has some rather more intelligent melody lines too. Some of the melodies are also pretty good too with some good pastoral soft solos.

Despite of some good melodies scattered around, this album never really captures my interest throughout. It is a bit too dull for my liking. Check it out if you like melodic jazz with plenty of saxophones. The rest of us can safely bypass it.
