Dogwatch - Penfriend (1979)

A live album from this British band I know absolute nothing about. This album was sold to me as a Genesis copycat, the Peter Gabriel era. I was fooled.

Dogwatch was a band with theatrical, dramatic music. I get some Ange associations here. The band was in the punk and pub rock tradition though. Ian Drury springs to mind as a good reference. The instruments were violins, organs, guitars, bass and drums.

The music is pretty decent and their songs were not too bad. The sound quality, mediocre bootleg quality, spoils the fun though. I have heard it cost next to nothing to record this album and it shows. Avoid this album.
