Vertical Alignments - Signposts (2006)

The one and only album from this US based project with Ajalon, Salem Hill and Glass Hammer members.

This is a Christian symphonic prog project with Christian themed lyrics on the top of US symphonic prog. References are Kansas and the three above mentioned bands. The amount of musicians on this album is both staggering and impressive.

The main instruments here are vocals, keyboards, bass, drums and guitars. With the exception of mandolin on one of the songs, there is no other instruments than those listed above. A lot of people chips in with their little or large contributions.

The music is US symphonic prog. No less and no more. The music is really slick with slick Christian lyrics and a slick production. The vocals are also slick and ditto for the keyboards and guitars.

This means a sugar sweet album. And it is indeed that. Too sugary sweet for my liking. My other gripe is the lack of any really good songs here. This is a decent enough album and that's it. I can understand why it was a one of album. If you are really missing albums like this, try one of Neal Morse's albums. Or you can buy this album.
