Cincinnato - Cincinnato (1974)

The one and only album from this Italian band.

No, it is not RPI/Progressive Italian Rock this time. Or rather; the main part of this album is not RPI at all. We are talking jazz here. Sort of.....

Cincinatto  was a four piece band and the line up was guitars, bass, drums and keyboards. That and some vocals at the final track.

The result is a forty minutes long album with four tracks. It starts out as a jazz album and then move on to a much more jazz rock and even prog rock direction on the final track, the twenty minutes long L'Ebete.

Much of the music, if not all of it, is improvised. That is great if the musicians is great and knows what they are doing, music wise. That is not the case when it comes to this band. The first half of this album is like a cure against insomnia. Boring and dull as watching paint dry. The final song, L'Ebete has some good stuff. It is still not a good song.

The end result is a decent album and one you don't need to have in your record collection. That is; if you don't want something quite healthy against insomnia.
