Granada - Valle Del Pas (1978)

The third album from this Spanish band and my first ever venture into their world.

This band has been labeled as an Italian band from Madrid, Spain. Valle Del Pas has indeed some Italian symph prog trademarks like the flutes and sound. But the music also has some English and Spanish symph prog trademarks.

Besides of the flutes, we get a lot of guitars, keyboards, bass, classical symphony instruments and drums here too. This album is an instrumental album and the music is a mix of symph prog and folk rock. The flutes are lush and very dynamic. Not unlike Jethro Tull in other words. The rest of the instruments are more symph prog than folk rock. That makes this album very unlike any Jethro Tull albums.

The music is both lush and dynamic. It also has some edge and never really become dull. The end result is a very good album which makes me interested in checking out the rest of their albums too. I think this band is playing my kind of music. In short; check them out.
