Hune - De l'Autre Côté du Monde (2009)

The debut album from this band from Quebec, Canada.

This city/town has had a great music scene and some excellent bands during the last fifty years. Maneige, Sloche and Harmonium springs to mind. Not to mention a lot of other bands too.

Hune is/was a two men big project where Daniel Couturier plays all instruments and Andre Bourget does the vocals. The vocals are in French. The instruments are guitars, drums, bass, piano and keyboards. That from what I can detect.

For those of us who fondly remembers Harmonium, this album comes as a big gift from heaven. Hune has incorporated their style into this album. That means all their phases over three albums.

This album offers us one hour with pastoral folk rock influenced symphonic prog. That is the most fitting label I can find for this album. The vocals is great. The music floats away with some gentle pastoral melodies. And the melodies are great too. That after a bit of a weak start where this album struggles to come into full bloom. But when it does that......... voila !!!!!!!!

This is a great album and I hope we can get another serving of the same. Please !
