Samadhi - Samadhi (1974)

A short lived Italian band with it's one and only album.

Samadhi grew out of the Italian bands Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno, I Teorimi, Kaleidon and L'Uovo Di Colombo. All of them with albums releases. Samadhi was what we can call a super group.

All of these bands played pretty complex music. That is not what we can say about this seven piece band. The lineup was Italian vocals, piano, woodwinds, guitars, bass, percussion, drums and keyboards.

That normally means a pretty big sound and some lively music. And yes, there are plenty of life here. The music though is a mix of Italian progressive rock and Italian pop music. Very simplified, but also pretty big at times. The sound is very big at times with plenty of big feelings and pathos throughout this thirty-five minutes long album.

The end result is a good album with no great songs. It is still an interesting album, well worth checking out.
