Jethro Tull - Songs From The Wood (1977)

Their tenth album and a bit of a return to the sound who gave us their best albums.

Songs From The Wood is very much what the album titles says. It is folk rock songs with a lot of added symph prog to the sound.  Ian Anderson's vocals is pretty dominating here as all compositions here are songs and not pieces of symphonic prog ditties. His vocals is supported by his own flutes and the rest of the band's guitars, bass, keyboards, drums and numerous other instruments. The sound is warm and organic.

The result is a great album with some great songs. The title track and Pibroch is the best songs here. The rest of the album is great too and this album serves as a timely reminder about how great this band was/is. There is not really much else to say about this album and this band. This album is one of their best albums.
